There are two main types of man boobs surgery: liposuction and surgical excision. Liposuction is a surgical intervention made with the patient under anesthesia. It is recommended for man boobs due to overweight. The fat is sucked out of the chest with a cannula (tube). Liposuction is very effective and the patient can fully recovery in 1 or 2 weeks even if is better to limit arms movement for a period up to 6 weeks. Sometimes the surgeon prescripts a compression garment that make recovery more comfortable and avoids post-operative physical problems.
Surgical excision is good when man boobs are caused not by fat but by hormonal imbalance and glands problems. Excision is actually removing the tissue that form the man boobs by cutting the skin near the armpit or below the aureola and extracting the breast tissue. The excision is then sewed and scarring is generally not visible. Sometimes to ensure a perfect result both treatments are used with a surgical excision followed by a little liposuction. Also in this case is recommended to avoid excessive arm and chest activity.
These are the techniques proved to be more effective. A downside of surgery is that it is invasive (like any other surgery technique) and risky as all operation is but the result is a flat chest in matter of one week. Another disadvantage is the cost. Gynecomastia surgery is expensive. Remember: look for promotions and discounts but always aim for the best. It’s your health and you don’t want to go for cheap on this important matter.
